Ruskin Bond’s Father’s Name is Aubrey Alexander Bond and his Mother’s name is Edith Dorothy Bond. He has a sister named Ellen Bond. His father worked in the Royal Air Force which led them to frequent movements in different places. When Ruskin Bond was 8 years old, his parents got detached, which affected his later childhood years on a significant level. His mother got married to a Punjabi Hindu Man and had a little connection with him. He had a profound relationship with his father, and nurtured his sense of living; however, in a short time, the demise of his father crushed his heart. The Early education of Ruskin Bond was carried out in Joseph’s Convent School and Bishop Cotton School in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. After the separation of his parents and the demise of his father, he shifted to Dehradun where his grandmother took care of him. He attended boarding school and during his school years, he took part in various writing contests that earned him accolades.

During his teen period, Ruskin Bond started sending his stories to various magazines, and at the age of 16, His First Story titled “ Untouchable’ was published. After completing his graduation, he shifted to London, and along with working as a clerk, he remained consistent with his writing. In 1955, he returned to India and worked as a Freelance Journalist. During this stage, he wrote his first novel which gained him a notable award.  Representation of the Hills and Mountains of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand constituted the major part of his literary work.
